Coauthor Ellen Rodman presented Pepper, Silk & Ivory at an evening event at the Harvard Club on February 2, 2015.
One of the stories Ellen told from the book that night was the story of Beate Sirota Gordon, who wrote the women’s and children’s rights sections of the Japanese Constitution the Americans wrote during the Occupation after World War II. Here Ellen is standing with Nicole Gordon, Beate’s daughter, who attended the event despite a winter storm.
